ModSala - Simular a salinidade de um ambiente costeiro em sala de aula

The Mod-SALa project aims to promote knowledge of the mechanisms of a coastal aquatic ecosystem, thereby increasing young students'/citizens' connection with the natural heritage of their region.

To this end, (1) a modelling environment will be constructed, based on geophysical and hydrogeological data, to simulate the salinity of the coastal aquifer of Lagoa de Santo André, which is fundamental to the existence of the groundwater-dependent ecosystem it supports; and (2) the modelling and simulation environment will be made available for experimentation in the classroom, namely at the Manuel da Fonseca Secondary School (Santiago do Cacém).

The team consists of Catarina Paz (principal investigator), Fábio Sampaio (co-principal investigator), Raquel Barreira, Nelson Carriço, and Miguel Esteves (consultant).
