João Pedro Pina Cordeiro

JOÃO PEDRO CORDEIRO | Professor at Business School of the Polytechnic Institute of Setubal (ESCE/IPS) since 2001 (Professor Coordinator from April 2024). Post-Doctorate in Human Resource Management from Faculty of Human and Social Sciences of Fernando Pessoa University (Porto, Portugal). PhD in Sociology (Specialization in Sociology of Work, Organizations and Employment) from ISCTE-IUL (University Institute of Lisbon, Portugal).

Master’s in Human Resource Development Policies from ISCTE-IUL. Degree in Sociology from ISCTE-IUL. He was Vice-President of the Technical-Scientific Council (2022–2024); member of the Technical-Scientific Council (2014–2024); member of Pedagogical Council (2010–2014, 2018–2022); President of the Department HRM and Organizational Behaviour (2018–2022); Vice Director (2013–2017); member of the Academic Council (2018–2022); Director of the HRM Degree (2010–2013).

He is responsible and teaches several curricular units in the Human Resources Management area at Degree and Master’s (e.g. Structures and Organizational Dynamics, Performance Management, Temporary Work Management, Strategies and Polices of Human Resources Development, Training and Communication, Methods and Techniques of Applied Research). 

He was a research member at Dinâmia’Cet (ISCTE-IUL (1997–2015) and at CICE/IPS Research Unit in Business Sciences (2016–2022). Now is a researcher at RESILIENCE – Center for Regional Resilience and Sustainability at the Polytechnic Institute of Setubal, developing research in the areas of human resource management, strategic human resource management, organizational commitment, organizational citizenship behaviour, conflict management, workforce sustainability, Resilience, Career Calling, and Workaholism.

He is a team member in national and international scientific projects, member of conference scientific committees and reviewer of scientific journals in human resource management and organizational behaviour areas, and author of some scientific journal articles in these areas of expertise, having presented several papers at national and international conferences.
